Lots of new stuff...
Rapture of the Deep is out and doing well and the second draft of The Wake of the Lorelei Lee is on our editor's desk, so all looks well in that way.
Listen&Live Audio has published all of the books up to Bonny Light Horseman, all narrated by the incomparable Katy Kellgren, and they are due to start production on Rapture in January.
Elaine, our wonderful new web-wrangler has just put up a new thread, The Songs Jacky Sings, that lists all the songs that our girl - and her friends sing in Mississippi Jack and Bonny Light Horseman, with links to modern performers doing those same songs. Check it out on the Background Category. Song lists for the other books will be posted soon. |
The cover for Rapture of the Deep is out and it's (finally) up here on the site. Check it out!

CURSE OF THE BLUE TATTOO, the audio version read by Katherine Kellgren and produced/ published by Listen&Live, was a big winner at the 14th Annual Audie Awards held at the New York Historical Society on May 29th.
CURSE OF THE BLUE TATTOO won in three categories: best solo female narrator, distinguished achievement in production, and best book for teens.
Previous awards for CURSE OF THE BLUE TATTOO include an Odyssey Honor Award, ALA's notable Children's Recordings List, Booklist's editor's Choice, Earphone Award from audiophile magazine, YALSA's Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults List, as well as Starred Reviews in both School library Journal and Booklist.
Heartfelt congratulations go out to Katherine Kellgren, narrator; Alisa Weberman and Al Martino of LISTEN & LIVE, and Charles de Montebello, in charge of production. |

This poor neglected website has been re-done and modernized. It is to be hoped that we'll be more attentive to it now that it will be easier to work with. Some bugs to be worked out, but we'll get it done. |

The "rough pages" (typeset but unbound) of "Rapture of the Deep" have been proof-read and edited and the book is now in the final stages of production. We've seen Cliff Neilsen's sketch of the cover and it's looking good - Jacky in a bathing suit... woo-hoo! |

First draft of "Wake of the Lorelei Lee" - Being an Account of the Adventures of Jacky Faber on Her Way to Botany Bay" sent off to our long suffering editor, Karen Grove out in California. Sparkle, Jacky, sparkle... |

Have heard the good news that the incomparable Katy Kellgren will again perform Jacky's voice in Listen & Live's audio versions of both "Mississippi Jack" and "My Bonny Light Horseman". Her reading of "Bloody Jack" won an Audie Award from Audio Publishers Association, and is nominated this year for "Curse of the Blue Tattoo." She also won an American Library Association Honor Odyssey Award for her performance of "Bloody Jack." More awards are sure to follow for "Under the Jolly Roger."
Can't wait to listen to the new ones. |
